WYSAS (Ents) Proudly Present:

This year has seen a plethora of 'festivals' thrust into the skintight jean-clad groins of music lovers from Leeds and afar. But only now, after biding its time whilst the underlings and runts of the festival world played out their inadequate shows, is THE RUMP ready to reveal its raucous rapture to the unsuspecting masses.

We have literally spilled blood (if one counts the smörgåsbord of fillet mignon, t-bone, and sirloin) to bring you an stupendous line-up of acts to keep the festivus fun flag raised higher than ever as we plough our dreary existences toward the cold winter months.

WHY? An all day beer and music fest at Brudenell Social Club, Leeds.
WHEN? Starts around 1400 until Midnight, Saturday 16th of October, 2010.

Click on the band names for links to their sites.

Drag The River: Jon Snodgrass and Chad Price bring you 'pack-a-day' voices and country-fied roots-rock that's about as authentic as it gets.

Austin Lucas: From the punk rock underground, Austin plays american country and bluegrass and sings like he's swallowed a golden song egg.

Cory Branan: From Austin, Texas, Cory's music is a mix of indie rock, punk rock and folk. Cory blimey, he sounds more like Ryan Adams than a man who gargles with diesel.

Cold Ones - Top drawer skate thrash Scousers who wouldn't sound out of place on the soundtrack to a Thrasher video from the 80s.

Serious Sam Barrett: From Bradford, West Yorkshire, Serious Sam is the Yorkshire ramblin' rose. Mixing up bluegrass, country and some serious good finger pickin'. Mine's a pint.

Eagulls: Great new Leeds band sounding like the b*stard child of Swervedriver and The Wipers - hard hitting and melodic shoegaze influenced punk.

Coal Train - Three quarters of This Aint Vegas delivering the kind of off-kilter, angular pop that made their last band so popular.

The Great St Louis - Anthems for the working man. Heartfelt and sincere punk rock of the highest calibre. Rank alongside Husker Du, Leatherface, Hot Water Music etc.

Well Wisher - Manchester & Leeds emo kids kicking out the jams mid 90s style. Expect plenty of singalongs, twinkly arpeggios and tops being swiftly taken off.

Jimmy Islip & Los Magnificos - embittered and angry folk songs about love, mining and the closure of squash courts. Featuring guest appearences by certain Magnificent, Hot Club de Paris and Dead Reckoning members.

Beverley Kills - Cambridge's answer to The Go Go's finally bring their party to Leeds - catchy, singalong punk ala Ramones, Lunachicks, The Donnas.

Tickets £8 adv/£10 door

Or go to Crash Records or Jumbo

Until then, save the date - SATURDAY 16th OCTOBER IS RUMPFEST!!!

Failures' Union / LIVE IN LEEDS/ April 1st 2010

WYSAS Presents

The Failures' Union
is a mid-90's influenced indie rock band from Buffalo, NY. It features current and ex-members of The Exit Strategy, and The Grail and Lemuria. They released their second full length "In What Way", this fall on Paper and Plastick Records.

For a free Failures' Union sampler, go here.

Bedford Falls is not an emo band from Germany, an indie-rock band from the Pacific North West, a metal band from Arkansas or a pub-rock band from Edinburgh.Bedford Falls is, however, 4 friends making music in their spare time. They’ve been doing what we do together since 2003. We wonder where the time went too. Think melancholy punk rock that has been compared to bands like; Husker Du, Buffalo Tom, The Moving Targets, The Lemonheads, REM, The Weakerthans and Leatherface amongst others.

The Dead Reckoning
is a rock 'n' roll band with punk rock roots from Leeds U.K. They have infiltrated and mutilated many bands from the West Yorkshire punk rock scene over the years, including Voorhees, Buzzkill, The Sex Maniacs and Achtung Everybody.

One more band will be confirmed.

A club night may be confirmed afterwards in the same venue.

Gig time: 7.30pm,
Venue: Upstairs at Santiagos', Grand Arcade, Leeds.
Door: £4 in

HOT WATER MUSIC plus guests at the Irish Centre, Leeds, 22nd June 2010

WYSAS and The Iron Wagon are proud to present:

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF VENUE (DUE TO DEMAND FOR TICKETS!): Tuesday, 22nd of June at the Irish Centre in Leeds. Map here.

Hailing from Gainesville, Florida, Hot Water Music are one of the most influential and respected punk bands of the past 15 years.

The band went on hiatus in 2006 and went their seperate ways. They went on to form bands such as The Draft & Chris Wollard & The Ship Thieves, and of course vocalist Chuck Ragan has become a sucessful solo artist.

However, after playing several mini sucessful US and German tours, Hot Water Music are now back to perform in the UK for the first time in over 5 years.

This is one of only 3 UK gigs and is the only northern date the band will be doing.

Get your tickets quick, this is not to be missed!

Check out: Hot Water Music myspace, Hot Water Music homepage, No Idea Records & Epitaph Records.

Support comes from:

Milloy - these Wakey lads love HWM so much they have kindly decided to donate their fee for playing to Mr. S. Russell. For fans of Florida punk and Leatherface.

The Magnificent - From Leeds. Their singer Jimmy can sometimes be found drunk in Germany at HWM shows! Sounds like Pinhead Gunpowder, Stiff Little Fingers.

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF VENUE (DUE TO DEMAND FOR TICKETS!): Tuesday, 22nd of June at the Irish Centre in Leeds. Map here.

Tickets are available from Crash Records, Jumbo Records both online and instore in Leeds, and from See Tickets - See Tickets online.

The Bomb, Mob Rules, Facel Vega at Nation of Shopkeepers, April 13th 2010

WYSAS bring you...

The Bomb

Punk Rock from Chicago, featuring Jeff Pezzati (of Naked Raygun and Big Black) on No Idea Records. Also features member of the Methadones and our good friend and soon to be Chicago legend Jeff Dean.

Musically The Bomb carry on the legacy of Naked Raygun and Pegboy delivering big sounding, melodic punk with a distinctly Chicago spin. There's no mistaking Jeff Pezzati's voice and it's perfectly suited with the melodic crunch of Jeff D's guitarwork (for want of a better word, sounds like some wanky phrase a guitar mag would use). The new record features a host of guests including J Robbins from Jawbox/Burning Airlines and Bob Nanna from Braid/Hey Mercedes if that floats your boat.

Not only do they sound bloody great, Jeff Dean made a bit of a reputation last time he toured over here for being a drinking behemoth. This was pretty much unfounded because he's a complete lightweight but I'm sure he'd be happy for the reputation to remain upheld so buy him a drink and watch him fall into a stupor.

Plus support from:

Mob Rules - Dark and brooding hardcore punk rock from these Leeds locals – think SST Records, Negative Approach, Crossed Out. In your face and proud of it.

Facel Vega
- South Wales’ finest emotional hardcore exports. Think Dischord Records, Ebullition Records, Torches To Rome. Fans of early to mid 90s emo will not be disappointed.

At Nation Of Shopkeepers.
